On February 12, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) released its first biannual work program. The document is important because it lays out EDPB's strategy for issuing data protection guidance over the next two years.
Such guidance will include, among others: Guidelines on PSD2 and GDPR, Guidelines on Targeting of social media users, an update of the Guidelines on the notion of legitimate interest of the data controller, opinions on the ePrivacy Regulation and much else.
After GDPR, a whole new season in data protection law has just begun in Europe and EDPB will definitely be the engine of any future change.
The EDPB published its challenging first biannual work program following the 2018 set-up phase. Look forward for many opinions and guidelines on the most various topics: from ePrivacy to PSD2, from legitimate interest to social media tracking.
